FCSS is a leader in preventative social support programs in Alberta that encourages communities to strengthen themselves. Sturgeon County provides a wide range of healthy lifestyle programming to meet the needs of residents. Programs include Senior/Youth Support, community assistance grant program, a Living Well resource service and numerous preventative programs and services for children, youth and adults.

Living Well Counselling Service is available at no-cost for Sturgeon County residents in our office, over the phone or in the community. We are here to help residents of all ages find their own ways to create more happiness in their lives.

Early Childhood Development Initiative - Sturgeon Region
Early Childhood Development Initiative – Sturgeon Region Supports for families with children ages 0 to 6 are available for residents of Sturgeon County, Bon Accord, Gibbons, Morinville, Redwater, Legal and the Garrison. These include free developmental screenings for children 0 to 6 years of age, support in accessing subsidies for families with children 0-6 with financial barriers toward early childhood services and Early Childhood Development programming.

Financial Assistance Available
To ensure that all residents of Sturgeon County, regardless of economic circumstances, have access to community services programs, Council has approved a program fee subsidy policy. Subsidy of up to 100% of a given program fee may be granted to individuals based on the established criteria. You must be a Sturgeon County resident to qualify for the subsidy. All applications are held in strict confidence. Payment plans can also be negotiated for those who do not qualify for subsidy.
